Our Macro Policy team at Leeds Policy Institute (LPI) conducts independent research on key economic challenges, with recent work examining the Bank of England’s post-Covid monetary response and UK fiscal frameworks. The 2025 - 2026 Academic Advisor for our Macro Policy team is Dr. Karsten Kohler.

Our team’s research has informed a published critique of the Bernanke review in the Financial Times, and has been presented at the London School of Economics and the British Conference of Undergraduate Research (BCUR) in Newcastle. Through rigorous, student-led analysis, the team continues to shape national conversations on macroeconomic policy.
